This electric frunk kit is excellent! I don’t know about you but I rarely used my frunk because it was a pain to open and close. Having a powered frunk makes a world of difference. The kit is pretty straight forward to install. There’s a good step by step install video to follow if you have a dual motor version of the car. For reference, I have a 2015 P85D (pre-facelift and single latch). There’s another video available that someone installs this on a rear wheel driver model s as well.
The only thing I would say that needs a slight update is that the install video is using an older version of the kit and not the “Mark 3.0”. The Mark 3.0 is actually easier to install but you just have to be mindful of some steps that aren’t required now with this upgraded kit.
After I installed everything, I did have some issues with the frunk fully latching so I reach out to their customer support via facebook messenger. They were very helpful and everything is working great now. If I was a better person, I would have recorded myself installing this. (Maybe I’ll still do that and update this review.) Either way, I would highly recommend this kit.

I just installed the kit. Overall easy to install. Now I am using the frunk and not worrying about denting it

If I could only choose one mod to install… this is the one!
It increases the functionality of your frunk by tenfold as you no longer need to have a clunky manual operation (this frunk is so particular that even Tesla has a specific way on how to close it) so you remove that from the equation and the fact that is smaller, makes putting groceries, light parcels, etc much easier than the roomier and bigger trunk.
For someone who is very new to doing this (first time doing this and no prior knowledge of car mechanics), I would not say the installation easy, especially if you have to end up tinkering like I did however it is absolutely doable and with the super support from Raymond, you will get it done (I was so frustrated that at one point I wanted to give up but thanks to Raymond’s patience and help, I was able to do it). If I didn’t have to tinker it, I would say installation time is roughly 2 hours, 1 to install it and 1 to assemble everything back however since I had to do this several times and know all things step by step now, it can just take you 1 hour in total.
I have the Variant B (MARK 3) facelift Model S with HEPA filter so the instructions are slightly similar but you can count on the video tutorial and the written tutorial to follow it.
Things to play close attention to are:
1. The air duct cover needs to be removed as well,
2. There are two thick black washers with the two silver bolts in the latching mechanism, you need these when installing these back so the striker aligns with the hook
3. Use the EVOffer included spring, it should be slightly more elongated once it is installed.
4. Absolutely tighten up the two 12mm nuts from the EVOffer kit (where you need to leave 3 wire threads).
5. Place the ECU (the control unit of the frunk) in an accessible place in case you need to remove it or upgrade the firmware. I left it right below the left cover.
Hope your installation goes well, good luck!
I am absolutely delighted by it and I cannot understand why Tesla doesn’t offer this by default!
Troubleshooting and FAQ:
1. If the hood is not lifting, make sure that the pins of the struts’ cable are not bent as this may disconnect it from operation
2. If the hood does not latch and stay flush, you need to tighten up the 2 12mm nuts
